Wednesday, May 8, 2013 A&L Goodbody has released Ireland's first Data Privacy Law App, supported by the Irish DP Commissioner
A&L Goodbody launched Ireland’s first dedicated Data Privacy Law App at the 5th Annual Data Protection Conference, held in the Ballsbridge Hotel on 21 February. The App is a useful resource for senior management, privacy law professionals and in-house lawyers who need to respond to increasing data protection requirements and the challenges that data security presents to business. The easy to navigate App is free to download to iPhone and iPad and includes an index of privacy law terms as well as links to relevant acts and regulations.
Speaking at the 5th Annual Data Protection Conference, hosted by the Irish Computer Society, Billy Hawkes, Irish Data Protection Commissioner said: "There has been an overall increase in awareness among Irish businesses regarding data protection requirements, however companies still need to ensure they and their staff are up to date on various aspects of data protection compliance. This new App from A&L Goodbody is a useful resource for doing just that."
The firm has committed to keeping the App up-to-date with any updates at Irish or European level.
